As times change, the dr. Soedjono Hospital which was built in 1917 is often experienced changes in name and function. At first, this hospital used the Dutch colonial government as a place of military service and the public.
Then, in 1942 when the Japanese invaded Indonesia, this hospital was used exclusively for the care of the Japanese army.
After Indonesian independence, the name of this hospital became PMI
Magelang Hospital, and then transformed into Wates RSU Magelang on
January 1, 1947, and later became Third Army Hospital since transferred
to Division III DKT March 1, 1948.
November 1, 1973, this hospital’s name was changed again to hospital
dr. Soedjono to the memory of Lt. Col. services dr. Soedjono the fall
against the Dutch.
Until the year 1980, the condition of hospital buildings was not
altered. New in 1981, began construction of the building and emergency
clinic.
Then, in 1986, the number one operating room plus central and eastern
gate of the hospital was built, so the hospital would not only serve
the military members only, but also the general patient
