Sanur: The first and most
classical tourist destination of Bali, where the peaceful, natural and
beautiful fishing village, white sandy beach make the sunrise the most
beautiful thing in Bali. It is 20 minutes drive from the Ngurah Rai
International Airport, 5 minutes to the capital city - Denpasar, and a
short distance to the other favorite destinations and attractions of
Bali.
Sanur was an important place in
Balinese history, where the Dutch Army landed an expeditionary force of
2.000 men on September 1906 to start the war with the local king and his
followers which was known as 'Puputan' - the fight to the end.
"Le Mayeur" Museum: Located at
Sanur Beach, this museum is the place to see Balinese arts and
historical items. The museum was built by a Belgian painter who married a
Balinese dancer named Ni Polok in 1932.
Sanur Art Market: This market
consists of two blocks at the Northern and Southern parts of the beach,
where most Balinese arts are available can be reached in 5 minutes walk
along the Sanur Beach sidewalk, where you can find other interesting
places such as restaurants, recreational and entertainment facilities
for tourists health and relaxation.
